Hiking Military Reserve

After work Morgan and I met up with our friend Maureen and went hiking on the Military Reserve trails.  It was becoming overcast but was still 70 degrees.  Everything was perfectly green and yellow wildflowers accented the hillsides.

Dinnertime Silliness

Morgan loves to mimic you (especially what Daddy does) and have you mimic her.  At mealtime this involves banging on her tray, clapping, waving, and more recently putting her hands on either side of her head.  Last night she was being extra silly.

Easter 2014

This year for Easter we went to American Falls to celebrate with Heidi's family.  The weather was beautiful!  We dyed eggs on Saturday and on Sunday went to church and had a delicious Easter dinner.  Unfortunately we didn't get the best pictures in our Easter outfits because Morgan needed a nap right after church, but at least we still got some smiles!  Morgan enjoyed unloading her Easter basket and was thrilled to find the eggs were filled with Cheerios!  She also got some bubbles, which we tried to blow outside but the wind wanted to blow them all away too quickly.

9 months old and so much to do!

Morgan hit the 9 month mark this week! It's flown by, and looking back she has grown and learned so much in such a short amount of time! It still amazes me how she can change practically hourly. We have not measured her yet (but will get that info at the doctor this week if not sooner), but she's getting longer and thinner. She has 3 (4) teeth, two on bottom since the first of January, and one (almost two) on top this week. She's feeding herself solid foods like a champ, and is very mobile. She's practically always happy and full of expression.

Last night I took a few videos of her demonstrating some of her new skills on her 9-month birthday (once again trying to video without help).

The first video is simply her crawling because not everyone's got to see her in action yet. It's so fun to watch her explore. I especially enjoy going to daycare and have her to crawl over to greet me (as well as all the other crawling babies).

The next video shows how she can now pull herself to standing. It also makes me laugh that Rusty is stealing her toys. He makes sure we pick up Morgan's toys before leaving the room, otherwise they'll disappear. Don't worry, no babies were harmed in the making of this video. I interviewed the baby 30 seconds after the accident occurred (video #3) and all was well (you'll see...she didn't even shed any tears!).

Future Ball Player!

Morgan loves to play with balls. She does a pretty good job catching (trapping) it and throwing it back, and gets super excited about this game. I think we have a future softball player in training! Tonight I tried to get video but was home alone so forgive the terrible quality...you get the idea.

Blogger is not letting me upload videos any more for some reason, so please follow the link to view the video I uploaded to YouTube. Let me know if it doesn't work; this is the first time I've tried it this way.

Crawling!

Morgan has been pretty mobile for awhile, rolling everywhere, turning in circles, and crawling backward. We've been encouraging her to crawl forward but she just wouldn't try. On Sunday Brandon was packing up to go out of town for work for the week and Morgan was on the ground playing. I told her, "You have 12 minutes before Daddy leaves to learn to crawl forward," afraid it would happen soon and he'd miss it. Literally one minute later he took his bag out to the car and she crawled four steps forward!! Thankfully she did it again before he left.

I got video but I'm sure it's too large to upload, so you'll have to take my word for it. She's still not very motivated to crawl forward, but soon she'll figure out it's a much more efficient way to move around.
